Privacy Policy

What ColorSift collects, what it does not, and who it shares data with.

Last updated

The short version

ColorSift has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. Colours you paste, images you upload to the extractor, and palettes you build are processed in your browser and are never sent to a server.

What is collected

The site uses Vercel Analytics, which records aggregate page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not track you across other sites.

Standard server logs are kept by our host, Vercel, and include IP address, user agent and requested URL. These are used to operate and secure the site.

What is not collected

  • No account details, because there are no accounts.
  • No uploaded images. The image colour extractor and gradient extractor read files locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted or stored.
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties.

Local storage

Your language preference is stored in a first-party cookie so the site opens in the language you last chose. Some tools keep recent values in your browser’s local storage so your work survives a refresh. Both stay on your device and clearing site data removes them.

Third parties

  • Vercel — hosting, content delivery and analytics.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces are self-hosted through Next.js at build time, so your browser does not contact Google.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected beyond operational logs, there is very little to request. If you believe we hold something about you, get in touch via the contact page and we will deal with it.

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
